Northeast India is the most volatile and insurgency affected place in the country after Kashmir. It is the easternmost part of India. In this story, I document the lives of surrendered militants who were part of some very dreaded militant groups in the far east at some point in time of their lives.

The region is linked tenuously with mainland India by a roughly 20 kilometre-wide land bridge and surrounded by Nepal, Bhutan, China, Myanmar and Bangladesh. There are over 200 indigenous and tribal communities living in this region.

This is from my series, “Homecoming”.
